About HRG

Hampton Roads Gazeti is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity which began publication in January 2009. Our mission is to promote social justice and community service by linking nonprofit organizations with each other and those they serve, and to empower people to take charge of their well-being and that of their environment.

Our Name and Symbol

“Gazeti” is the Swahili word for newspaper. The Adinkra symbol, Nkonsonkonson (chain link), is a symbol of unity in human relations. It serves as a reminder to give back to the community; giving strength through unity.

Whether you’re the leader of a nonprofit in need of publicity, a parent seeking positive activities for your children, or a concerned citizen looking for ways to contribute to your community, the Gazeti Team is here for you!
